Authentication problems with netatmo


Due to a technical change on the part of the netatmo infrastructure, it is necessary to install and use the latest myatmo version available in the App Store.

Old versions of myatmo are no longer supported due to the changes to the netatmo authentication, an update of these old myatmo versions is not possible.

It is therefore essential to update to the latest version of myatmo. If you are using an old iOS version that is no longer supported by the latest myatmo version, you must update iOS or use myatmo on a device that has the latest iOS version installed. Due to technical limitations of old iOS systems, it is not possible to provide the latest myatmo version on outdated iOS versions.

netatmo has made various changes to the authentication infrastructure in May 2024. myatmo takes these changes into account, but you must be sure that you observe the following things:

Please follow these instructions step-by-step:

  • Open the official netatmo app, tap on the menu icon in the top left corner, select ‘My Account’ >>> ‘Partner Apps’.
  • Remove all listings of myatmo in the list of partner apps by tapping on a myatmo entry and then selecting ‘Remove access’.
  • Then delete myatmo from all your devices, including devices using an outdated iOS version.
  • Switch your devices off and then on again. This step is very important!
  • Reinstall myatmo on your devices. Please note that at least iOS 15 is required to use myatmo.
  • Start myatmo, follow the instructions for authentication.

This will fix potential authorization problems.
